The first session in the morning began early at 4.30am as Khenchen Yongzin Thrangu Rinpoche led three hours of concluding ceremonies and dedication prayers for the Mahakala ritual. Gyalwang Karmapa joined the congregation at 8.30am to lead the traditional Sang Purification Ritual of incense offerings, followed by dedications, and prayers for auspiciousness, which mark the last day of the Tibetan year
