Karmapa Leads Prayers for Drug Chu Zong Calamity Victims

August 21, 2010 – Dharamsala

His Holiness Gyalwang Karmapa led a special prayer at Tsuklag Khang temple in Mcleodgunj.

Hundreds of devotees including Tibetan Government officials, monks, nuns, and lay followers came to pay their respects and express their condolences and sympathy towards the victims and families of those affected by the natural calamity in the Drug Chu Zong area of Tibet. The calamity occurred on the 8th of August, 2010.

The prayer lasted two hours. All the attendees made deep prayers and were touched by the presence of His Holiness who was leading the prayer.

4th Week: The King of Aspiration Prayers, The Aspiration for Noble Excellent Conduct for Victims of Kyigudo Quake

May 11, 2010 – Dharamsala

Today, prayers were led by Gyalwang Karmapa. This week marks the 4th after the Kyigudo Quake, which claimed many lives and caused tremendous suffering.

This week, the prayer being performed was The King of Aspiration Prayers, the Aspiration for Noble Excellent Conduct which was led by His Holiness. Participating in the prayer session were Dharamsala local people, foreigners, the Chief of Justice of the Tibetan Government in Exile, the Vice Chairman of the Tibetan Government in Exile, members of the Tibetan Government in Exile’s Parliament, the Assemby of Tibetan People’s deputies, and others.

The chants were led by Namgyal Monastery and the puja was sponsored by Chushi Gangdruk’s (Four Rivers, Six Ranges) main office in Dharamsala.

Delhi Teachings and Long Life Prayers for His Holiness The Dalai Lama

February 28, 2010 – Delhi

His Holiness gave a Chenrezig empowerment and “Mani” transmission to a large gathering of people, mainly from Himalayan region and Tibetans, at Buddha Jayanti Park in New Delhi. The Himalayan Buddhist Cultural Association of Delhi organized the public teaching.

March 2, 2010 – Dharamshala

Gyalwang Karmapa attended the Tenshug (long-life prayer offering) ceremony for His Holiness the Dalai Lama on March 2nd, as a collective expression of gratitude and reverence for his leadership, organized by Tibetan Government-in-Exile. Kyabje Sakya Trizin conducted the ceremony that lasted for over three hours.

The ceremony was attended by Tibetan lamas, the Tibetan Prime Minister Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche and his cabinet members, speaker and deputy speaker of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile, heads of the autonomous bodies, and other officials of the Tibetan Government.

Gyalwang Karmapa Inaugurates TCV Chauntra School Center for Disabled Students

November 21, 2009 – TCV Chauntra

On the 5th founding anniversary of the TCV School of Chauntra, His Holiness inaugurated and consecrated a special center for disabled students.

His Holiness graced the anniversary as chief guest, and Mr. Tsultrim Tenzin (Member of Parliament of Tibetan Government in Exile) and all the heads of the local Tibetan settlements also attended the occasion. Read more

Gyalwang Karmapa Graces The 49th Founding Anniversary Ceremony of The Tibetan Children’s Village School

His Holiness Gyalwang Karmapa was requested to grace the 49th founding anniversary ceremony, as the chief guest, of the Tibetan Children’s Village School.
