Gyalwang Karmapa Concludes Bodhgaya Visit to Participate in Kalachakra Puja

 

January 11, 2012 – Bodhgaya.

The Gyalwang Karmapa today concluded a brief but fruitful visit to Bodhgaya to receive the Kalachakra for World Peace initiation conferred by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. After arriving on January 3, the Gyalwang Karmapa was also occupied granting daily public audiences to groups ranging from 1,000 to 10,000 people daily. On the final day of the Kalachakra puja, the Gyalwang Karmapa also attended a long-life empowerment and offering ceremony for His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

As many as 300,000 had pilgrims gathered in the village of Bodhgaya for the Kalachakra for World Peace ceremonies. Thousands of Buddhists from across the Himalayan region joined Tibetans coming directly from Tibet itself in what was the most important public religious ceremony in years for the vast community of followers of Tibetan Buddhism in India and around the world.

Karmapa Office of Administration Flatly Denies Reports His Holiness the Karmapa is Linked to Chinese Government

The Karmapa Office of Administration firmly denies the published allegations that His Holiness the Karmapa has rallied in support of the communist Chinese government whose oppression he fled 11 years ago. We repeat that the preposterous claim that His Holiness is a Chinese spy or agent is a complete fabrication, utterly baseless and reckless slander.

The Karmapa Office of Administration appeals to the press to cease its character assassination of His Holiness the Karmapa, one of the most revered figures in Tibetan Buddhism, and a spiritual leader to Buddhists worldwide.

The Karmapa Office of Administration adamantly denies the baseless fabrications touted by some media claiming that His Holiness the Karmapa is a Chinese spy or agent. Specifically, reports have circulated recently claiming that His Holiness the Karmapa has acquired lands along the Sino-Indian border. We state categorically that His Holiness owns no such property whatsoever, nor does the Karmapa Office of Administration. Additionally, some reports cite an unnamed source claiming that the Enforcement Directorate seized Chinese SIM cards and possess records of conversations between His Holiness the Karmapa and Chinese government officials. Such inaccurate reports constitute fiction masquerading as journalism and slander one of the most highly revered figures in Tibetan Buddhism. Dagyab Kyabgön Rinpoche Calls on His Holiness Gyalwang Karmapa

August 6, 2010 – Gyuto

Dagyab Kyabgön Rinpoche met with His Holiness Karmapa at His Holiness’ residence in Gyuto. Loden Sherab Dagyab Rinpoche belongs to the Gelug tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. As “Kyabgön” (Lord Protector) of the Dagyab region in Eastern Tibet he is – like his predecessors since the 17th century – the spiritual and political head of the area. After the traditional study of Buddhist philosophy, Rinpoche graduated from the Drepung monastic college. Later Rinpoche joined the monastic communities of Nyagre Khangtsen of Ganden, and of Ratö Monastery.

The meeting between Dagyab Rinpoche and Gyalwang Karmapa lasted about half an hour. Rinpoche arrived in Dharamsala a week ago.

Gyalwang Karmapa Inaugurates the 10th Religious Conference of Tibetan Buddhism

His Holiness inaugurated the 10th Religious Conference of Tibetan Buddhism at Thekchen Choling in Dharamsala. The heads of all the major Tibetan Buddhism sects including the Bon participated the conference.

The Religion and Cultural department of Tibetan Government in exile requested His Holiness to inaugurate and to lead the conference. Read more
