HE Tai Situ Rinpoche with HH Karmapa

As requested by Tsurphu Labrang (Karmapa’s Office of Administration) His Eminence Tai Situ Rinpoche arrived at Gyuto Monastery on June 22nd, 2008. Tai Situ Rinpoche is engaged in teaching and Initiation to His Holiness starting from June 23rd, 2008.

His Holiness Karmapa Returns to India

June 5th, 2008

At around 3 in the afternoon His Holiness landed at Gaggal airport and walked through array of Serbangs keenly waiting for his arrival. The chairman of the Assembly of Tibetan people’s Deputy Mr. Karma Chomphel offered welcome scarf to His Holiness along with many more;

With heavy rainfall His Holiness was welcomed at the main shrine hall of Gyuto Monastery. Tsurphu Labrang ( Karmapa’s Office of Administration ) and Gyuto Monastery offered traditional Mandala offering to His Holiness and had Tea and Rice ceremony. Read the rest of this article

HE Goshir Gyaltsab Rinpoche Teaching HH Karmapa

As requested by Tsurphu Labrang (Karmapa’s Office of Administration) His Eminence Goshir Gyaltsab Rinpoche arrived at Gyuto Monastery on 11th of March, from the 14th of March 2008 the oral transmission of Shang-pae Ser-choe which is from the Shangpa Kagyu Lineage and teaching of Choe-nyi Nam-je composed by Mipham Rinpoche, His Holiness receives the teaching every morning from 6 to 8 am from His Eminence. Welcome to the Year of the Earth Mouse

7th February, 2008 is Tibetan New Year (Losar). The year is now 2135, the Earth Mouse year according to Tibetan Calendar. The Gyalwang Karmapa celebrated his Losar at Gyuto Ramoche Monastery in Dharamsala. In the morning of Losar, His Holiness presided over prayer at the main shrine hall. All the monks of Gyuto, the staff of Tsurphu Labrang and many devotees attended the prayer. Ceremonial sweet rice and Tibetan tea was offered by Gyuto Monastery to all who gathered here for the Losar Ceremony. Gyuto Khen-Rinpoche offered a mandala to His Holiness. The ceremony was concluded with the blessings from His Holiness to the assembly. Later, all the staff of Tsurphu Labrang had a private audience with His Holiness.

On Losar evening, His Eminence Tai Situ Rinpoche arrived at Gyuto Monastery to wish His Holiness ‘Tashi Delek’ for Losar and they had dinner together.

Visit to Center School for Tibetans Dalhousie (October 4-6, 2007)

At the invitation of the local Tibetan community, NGOs, Regional Tibetan Youth Congress (RTYC), Tibetan Women’s Association and the Center School for Tibetans (CST) Dalhousie, His Holiness The 17th Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje visited Dalhousie, district Chamba, on the 4th of October 2007. His Holiness consecrated and inaugurated a new settlement to benefit particularly scattered and destitute Tibetans.

The settlement project was funded through Tibetan Home Affairs by foreign supporters of Tibet. His Holiness presented the prizes awarded to students who topped the Center School Examination. During the visit, he CST students presented Tibetan cultural dances and songs. The school principal, Mr. Phunrab Choesang, spoke to the assembly, stating “It is our great merit that His Holiness has blessed this place” and expressed the deeply felt gratitude and many Tashi Delek to His Holiness. The principal narrated a short biography of His Holiness in Tibetan, English and Hindi to the public.

On the second day of the visit, His Holiness gave a public teaching based on The Six Perfections (Prajnaparamita) and conferred the Amitayus empowerment on the public consisting of thousands of devotees from the regions all around and foreigners.
