His Holiness at Vajra Vidhya in Sarnath (January, 2008)

5th January, 2008. Vajra Vidya Institute monks have been performing the Thrangu Tse-drup Puja (Thrangu Style of Long Life puja which was developed during the time of the 14th Karmapa) for the Gyalwang Karmapa from 3-5 January. On the last day of the Thrangu Tsedup Puja, the Kyabje Khenchen Yongzin Thrangu Rinpoche offered the Ten-shug (Long Life) Mandala to the Gyalwang Karmapa. The ceremony took place in the main shrine hall of VVI which was filled with numerous international devotees and many Tibetans, mutually praying for Long Life of the Gyalwang Karmapa, for the benefit of all sentient beings.

His Holiness in Bodhgaya After Monlam (Winter Tour 2007-08)

Bodhgaya to Varanasi, 31st December 2007

Gyalwang Karmapa left Bodhgaya early morning by road and arrived Vajra Vidhya Institute at around 1 pm which is in Saranath, Varanasi (U.P). At the arrival His Holiness was welcomed by Khenchen Yongzin Thrangu Rinpoche and all the monks with serbang. The VVI monks are performing the Tsedup (Long Life) puja for His Holiness. Guyhasamaja Teachings from HH Dalai Lama (May 19-30)

Their Holinesses Gyalwang Karmapa and Sakya Trizin attended His Holiness’ Dalai Lama’s teaching and commentary on Guhyasamaja at the Tsuglagkhang. Over 2600 people attended the teaching, including more than 2000 monks and nuns, and 169 foreigners. To receive the empowerment, attendees were required to have already received the Guhyasamaja Initiation as a pre-requisite to these advanced teachings. Read the rest of this article

His Holiness at the 2007 Mind and Life Conference in Dharamsala (April 9-13, 2007)

 

2007 Mind and Life Conference in Dharamsala attended by Their Holiness Dalai Lama and Gyalwang Karmapa

His Holiness Gyalwa Karmapa attended the conference of Mind and Life, Dialogue on The Universe in a Single Atom, held at His Holiness Dalai Lama’s residence. Headed by His Holiness Dalai Lama, the Dialogues were held from April 9th till April 13th, at the request of Mr. R. Adam Engle, CEO and Chairman of Mind and Life Institute, and General Coordinator of the Mind and Life Conference.

His Holiness Guest of Honor at Global Conference for Peace (April 2006)

On April 8, 2006, His Holiness the Gyalwang Karmapa was the Chief Guest at the “Global Conference for Peace” organized by the Mahabodhi Society of India. The Conference was held in New Delhi and commemorated the 2550th Buddha Jayanti.

On his arrival at Mavalankar Auditorium, the venue of the function, Dr.B.K..Modi, President Mahabodhi Society of India, along with Ven. Chosphel Zotpa, Honorable Member of the National Commission of Minorities, Government of India, senior functionaries of the Society and others in attendance, accorded the Karmapa a rousing reception. Several religious leaders from different faiths were seated on the dais.
